St David’s Day HomeSchool Challenge
Foundation Phase
In celebration of St David’s Day on 14th March, please have a go at creating a 2D/3D
piece of art/craft work that you think best represents Wales. It can be a poster,
drawing, painting, collage, model of a symbol of Wales (Dragon, Daffodil, Castle,
Sport, Flag etc.)
As part of our Foundation Phase St David’s Day celebration, the children in
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be taking part in a food tasting session. They will be
tasting Welsh Cakes, Bara Brith, Welsh Cheese and Welsh crisps.
If you have any objections or concerns about your child taking part, please contact the school.

Woodland Wonders.
Woodland Wonders continues to seek adult volunteers. Anyone able to provide any time to Support these sessions please contact Mrs Nicholls. Thank you
Polite reminder:
Please can we ask parents not to escort their children into the classes in the Foundation Phase corridor during Breakfast Club, this presents a safeguarding risk.
Mrs Manley is available, taking breakfast club registers if you need to pass on a
message. Or email is also a direct way to get information to class teachers.
Thank you.
Urgent Parking Reminder
The parking around the school gates appears to have reduced, which we thank you -
However, there are a few cars which still remain parked on the lead up to school. We have
not approached the local parking enforcement officer but they have been at the gates
historically and may turn up again in the near future.
School gates
Please be advised we are further ensuring the safety of the school site by making sure the
gates remain closed. If you are accessing the school site, please ensure you close the gates
behind you. Thank you for your cooperation.
Absences
It is vitally important to let school know (via call, text or email) of absences & medical
appointments, on the day, so that these are logged correctly in the registers. Thank you
Please email absences to the main school email address to enable registers to be updated
with correct absence codes. This prevents the need for phone calls during the day.
Stathanps@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk
The school mobile number is: 07935 014292 - please save this to your phone as
we will continue to reach out to contact you using this method, this can also be used
to contact the school via text/Whatsapp message to inform of absences. Thank you
